Dengue-infected toll crosses 1,800 across Nepal

KATHMANDU, July 25: The number of dengue-infected cases has crossed 1,800 across the country. The Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD) has reported that from this year’s January to July 22 the number of dengue infected reached 1,825.

KATHMANDU, July 25: The number of dengue-infected cases has crossed 1,800 across the country. The Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD) has reported that from this year’s January to July 22 the number of dengue infected reached 1,825.


Among them, 339 dengue-infected cases were added in the last 22 days of July. This year (2024), dengue has spread in 73 districts.

Bagmati Province has recorded the highest number of infected i.e. 593. On the basis of district, Kathmandu has the highest number i.e. 209, as reported by the ECDC.


Similarly, dengue has been confirmed in 129 people in Jhapa, in 93 people in Chitwan, 74 people in Makwanpur, 59 people in Tanahun, 57 in Okhaldhunga, 57 in Bhojpur, 51 in Kavrepalanchok, and in 50 people in Kaski.


Besides this, the number of dengue-infected people in other districts is less than 50. According to the ECDC, districts except Mustang, Dolpa, Humla and Jumla have been affected by dengue.
