Deuba to form five-member cabinet today

Bal Krishna Khand (Home) and Gyanendra Bahadur Karki (Law) from NC and Janardan Sharma (Finance) and Pampha Bhusal (Energy) from Maoist Center to take oath of office and secrecy as ministers along with PM Deuba

KATHMANDU, July 13: The CPN (Maoist Center) has decided to send Janardan Sharma “Prabhakar” and Pampha Bhusal as ministers in the Sher Bahadur Deuba-led cabinet. 


A meeting of the top leaders of the Maoist Center held on Tuesday decided to send Sharma and Bhusal in the cabinet. Sources said Sharma will head the Finance Ministry while Bhusal will oversee the Ministry of Energy, Irrigation and Water Resources as a minister.

Both Sharma and Bhusal are scheduled to take oath of office and secrecy as cabinet ministers along with Prime Minister Deuba at Shital Niwas. 


Sources said Deuba is appointing the party’s Chief Whip Bal Krishna Khand and Gyanendra Bahadur Karki as cabinet minister. They are also scheduled to take oath of office and secrecy along with Prime Minister Deuba.


Sources said Khand will be appointed as Home Minister, while Karki will serve as Minister for Law. 


Meanwhile, Janata Samajbadi Party has decided to send ministers from the party only after holding extensive discussion with the party lawmakers. None of the ministers from Janata Samajbadi Party led by Upendra Yadav will take oath of office and secrecy as ministers today.
