Devotees throng goddess Brahmayani shrine

BHADGAUN, Oct 19: A big religious fair has commenced at the famous Brahmayani temple in Bhaktapur on the occasion of the Bada Dashain festival today. 


Bada Dashain is 10 days long biggest festival of Nepalis in which the goddesses Nawadurga are worshipped. The Bijaya Dashami is the last day of the festival and is marked by offering and receiving tika and jamara. Tika and Jamara are taken as the auspicious items symbolising the blessings from the goddesses.

A large number of devotees visit the temple on the day of Bada Dashain every year to pay homage to the goddess Brahmayani. 


People from Bhaktapur, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Kavre among various places have thronged the temple today with the belief that a person worshipping and paying homage to Brahmayani and Nawadurga Devgan today is blessed with happiness, peace and prosperity. 


Some of the devotees come to the temple crawling from their homes so that their wishes would be fulfilled. Groups of locals playing the traditional Dhime musical instruments and flutes have also reached the temple, playing the musical instruments.  RSS
