Dhangadi reaches final of DPL; defeats Rupandehi by 92 runs

DHANGADI, April 20: With a surprise journey in the tournament, Dhangadi Team Chauraha has placed itself in the final of the ongoing Dhangadi Premier League (DPL).


In the last playoff match played on Thursday, Team Chauraha defeated Rupandehi Challengers by 92 runs.

In a match played at SSP Cricket Ground, Team Chauraha won the toss and chose to bat first. With the loss of five wickets in 20 overs, the team scored 172 runs. Captain Paras Khadka scored not out 67 runs in 41 runs with six fours and four sixes. Likewise Raju Rijal scored 25 runs from 28 balls with four fours.


Krishna Karki took two wickets off 40 runs whereas Bikram Bhushal and Shahab Alam took single wicket each for Rupandehi Challengers.


Landed in the crease with the target of 173 runs, Rupandehi Challengers were all out with just score of 80 runs in 15.2 overs. Rajesh Pulami and Krishna Karki were the highest scorer for the team with 14 runs each. Pushpa Thapa scored 13 runs whereas rest other players could not reach the score of double digit.


Lalit Rajbanshi and Saurav Khanal took three wickets each for the Team Chauraha giving away three runs and 26 runs respectively. Aarif Sheikh grabbed two wickets. Team Chauraha will now face Sharad Bheshwakar led Biratnagar Kings for the trophy on Saturday.
