KATHMANDU, July 28: A discussion was held between Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol and the management and editorial leadership of Nepal Republic Media on Thursday.
An informal understanding has been reached between Deputy Mayor Dangol and Director of Nepal Republic Media (NRM) Shova Gyawali to exchange mutual support for the development and prosperity of the metropolis during the discussion.
KMC Deputy Mayor Dangol said that she has taken both challenge and opportunity to address various problems seen in the metropolis. She said, "There are many problems. Management of those problems is the biggest challenge at present. All areas are important for the metropolis.”

Deputy Mayor Dangol informed Republica that waste management is the first priority and they will work to improve the education sector later.
Dangol said that raising the level of education and infrastructure of government schools in the metropolis is her priority. “We are not in favor of merging government schools just because the number of students is small. We are planning to raise the standard of existing government schools and increase the number of students there," said Deputy Mayor Dangol.
NRM Director Gyawali said that NRM is ready to move forward by cooperating with various programs organized by KMC. She said, "There are many problems in Kathmandu metropolis. Guardians were needed to solve these problems. Now, the metropolis has got its guardians. We believe that you will bring the metropolis out of those problems.”
Deputy Mayor Dangol visited NRM on Thursday along with former Nepali ambassador to Israel, Dr Anjan Shakya. Dr Shakya, said that while she was the Nepali ambassador to Israel, she had gathered various experiences and that she is working to implement them in Nepal through various means. She mentioned that every citizen has an equal role for the country's development and change.
