After the official declaration to cancel the award show, comedian Deepak stated that cancellation of the award will create negative image of Nepal in a global market. The actor took to his Facebook to express his perception on award.

He wrote, “We might save money but aren’t we being promoted as a country without hosting a single international event? No matter whether the event is hosted by a government or a private organization-we are continuously cancelling such big events which is spreading negative message about us. Money is not just everything; instead we should have protected our prestige.”

Furthermore, more than 600 international representatives along with 60 prominent Bollywood artists were slated to visit the country for the award.
