KATHMANDU, June 28: The District Court, Kathmandu, has allowed the police to detain for seven days the four accused who were earlier arrested for their alleged involvement in illegally transferring 113 ropanis of government land of Lalita Niwas located in Baluwatar.
The District Court, Kathmandu, has allowed Bhatbhateni Supermarket owner Min Bahadur Gurung, the then Land Revenue officer Dharma Prasad Gautam, Land Revenue Office employee Gopal Karki and the then Bhaktapur Land Revenue Office chief Sudhir Shah to be detained and allowed to be investigated, said SP Nabaraj Adhikari of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police.

They were arrested by the police from various places in Kathmandu on Tuesday. Although the police arrested seven people, three were released after it was found that the court had already issued a stay order against their arrest.
Police arrested Sudhir Kumar Shah, Min Bahadur Gurung, Gopal Karki and Dharma Prasad Gautam on Tuesday for their involvement in the embezzlement of Lalit Niwas land in Baluwatar.
