RAUTAHAT, Dec 8: Police have arrested a doctor for allegedly raping a woman in Rautahat. A team of police from the District Police Office, Rautahat, has arrested Sudheer Kumar Singh, 45, who is the in-charge at Sarautha Health Post in Yamunamai Rural Municipality.
Three students arrested for gang rape
Singh has been accused of raping a 30-year-old woman when she had traveled to Rautahat for a visit from Chitwan on Wednesday. The alleged victim was waiting for a bus at Gaur Bus Park to return to Chitwan. Singh took the alleged victim to the health post, 15-kilometer far from the headquarters, assuring that he will help her find a bus to Chitwan. He then raped her in the health post, according to a complaint filed by the alleged victim.
The alleged victim filed a complaint with the Rautahat Police on Thursday. The alleged victim had a health checkup at the District Hospital in Gaur. According to DSP Nabin Karki, spokesperson for the district police, the accused has been arrested for further investigation into the case.
