According to hospital administration, an investigation is underway over the incident."We have reported the matter to the police for investigation," Binod Basnet, Chief of the Hospital’s Administration Department said.

According to the hospital officials, if a child dies while giving birth in the hospital, it is handed over to the people concerned. However, he said that the issue of a dog grabbing a child by the mouth inside the hospital is a very serious issue. "If the hospital has to manage a deceased baby, we pack it and bury it in the place where the umbilical cords are disposed of," he said.
