KATHMANDU, July 3: Private domestic airlines have decided to slash airfare with effect from Monday. The meeting of Airlines Operator Association of Nepal (AOAN) held on Sunday decided to reduce airfare by a minimum of Rs 115 and a maximum of Rs 385.
“We decided to reduce airfare after Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) deducted the price of aviation turbine fuel (ATF),” AOAN Spokesperson Ghanshyam Acharya told Republica Online, “We hope the decision will provide a relief to air travelers.”
According to Marketing Manager of Simrik Airlines, Prajwol Thapa, decision has been made to slash fare by Rs 115 for Simara, the nearest air destination from Kathmandu, and Rs 385 for Dhangadhi, the farthest air destination from Kathmandu.
Now, the fare from Kathmandu to Simara per passenger is Rs 2,650 and for Dhangadhi is Rs 10,605.
The current fare for Simara from Kathmandu is Rs 2,765 and for Dhangadhi is Rs 10,990.
