DoR receives Rs 9.40 billion for payment of construction workers' dues

KATHMANDU, July 12: The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has allocated Rs 9.40 billion to pay the dues of construction workers for projects under the Department of Roads (DoR).


Ram Hari Pokharel, director general of the DoR, announced that the payment process has been facilitated through a budget transfer, with Rs 8.25 billion already entered into the system.

The DoR still owes about Rs 12 billion to construction workers whose bills have been approved upon project completion.


The MoF has prioritized national pride projects in its budget transfers. According to Amit Kumar Sharma, senior divisional engineer of the DoR, funds have been allocated for the constituency strategic road project, the Mid-Hill Highway, the Postal Highway, and the North-South projects.
