Double delight for NPC

KATHMANDU, Jan 28: The departmental team Nepal Police Club (NPC) has ended the first league round of the ongoing 13th Red Bull Dhorpatan UM Women’s Volleyball Double League Tournament with two victories on Saturday.

KATHMANDU, Jan 28: The departmental team Nepal Police Club (NPC) has ended the first league round of the ongoing 13th Red Bull Dhorpatan UM Women’s Volleyball Double League Tournament with two victories on Saturday. 


NPC defeated the other departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) 25-13, 25-23, 25-20 in the first match, while it beat Shree Gaun Sports Club 25-7, 25-11, 25-11 in the second. Despite falling behind against TAC in all three sets, NPC recovered brilliantly to win the sets.

Meanwhile, TOPS Higher Secondary School has lost three back-to-back defeats. The third departmental team Armed Police Force (APF) saw off TOPS in a straight set of 3-0 in 25-18, 25-13, 25-14. TOPS, who had also lost to NPC, was defeated by Shivam New Diamond Academy (NDA) on Friday. 


In other matches played on the same day, NDA overcame Eastern Regional Volleyball Association 25-5, 25-5, 25-3.  Before losing to NPC, Shree Gaun had beaten Meghauli Sports Foundation 25-22, 25-15, 25-14, while Meghauli beat Three Star Academy 25-6, 25-8, 25-1. 


Other 12 matches remain to play in the first league round.  With the win, NDA is at the top with 30 points from 10 games and will vie against APF, who has 27 points, in their last match on Monday.
