SUDURPASCHIM, Sept 21: Agitating Dr Govinda KC, who has been staging hunger strike in Dhangadhi for nine days, denied the request to be airlifted for treatment despite his deteriorating health condition.
Dr KC, who is receiving treatment at Seti Provincial Hospital, Dhangadhi, due to worsening health after hunger strike, was requested to fly to Kathmandu in a sky truck of Nepal Army, but he snubbed the offer, according to Chief District Officer Kiran Thapa. "His health must be restored. However, he is insisting not to fly to Kathmandu," he said.

Dr KC has been staging a hunger strike at Git Satsang Building in Dhangadhi, demanding reforms in medical education. It is his 20th agitation with the same demand.
Dr KC was admitted at the Provincial Hospital after he experienced health complications. Physician Dr Sher Bahadur Kamar said that Dr KC is facing difficulty in breathing and experiencing headache, giddiness, increased heartbeat, weight loss and fatigue.
Similarly, Dr KC lost blood sugar, nutrients and water, which, doctors say, could result in grave threat to life. Doctors have recommended his transfer to a better health facility.
