Dr Tripathi inaugurates Banira Foundation Museum

Senior critic Professor Dr Basudev Tripathi inaugurated the Banira Foundation building and Banira Museum amid a ceremony on Wednesday. On this occasion, Tripathi inaugurated a statue of Dr Banira Giri, a gem of Nepali Literature.

Senior critic Professor Dr Basudev Tripathi inaugurated the Banira Foundation building and Banira Museum amid a ceremony on Wednesday. On this occasion, Tripathi inaugurated a statue of Dr Banira Giri, a gem of Nepali Literature.

Dr Tripathi also presented the Banira Pragya Award, carrying a purse of Rs100,000 to well-known litterateur Kali Prasad Rijal. Similarly, poet Usha Sherchan was awarded the Banira award along with a sum of Rs 50,000, and sculptor Mahesh Tuladhar was awarded Rs 25,000 along with the Banira award.


The Banira Foundation has been established as per the wishes of Engineer Shankar Giri. Dr Banira Giri died of coronavirus disease on 23 May,2021.


The event was presided over by senior writer Indira Prasai. Prof.Dr Vasudev Tripathi, Kali Prasad Rijal, Usha Sherchan, E. Shankar Giri, Founder and Patron of Banira Foundation and Narendra Raj Prasai, Member Secretary also addressed the event.
