Dream of crystal-clean Bagmati will come true at earliest: Minister Magar

KATHMANDU, Oct 19: Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation Bina Magar has inspected Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) located at Guheshwori in Kathmandu on Saturday.

KATHMANDU, Oct 19: Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation Bina Magar has inspected Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) located at Guheshwori in Kathmandu on Saturday.


Minister Magar paid a field visit to the plant being constructed by Project Implementation Directorate under her ministry. The project has reached its final stage.

After inspection, she said, “We are almost done with the dream of purifying the water of the Bagmati River as the project has witnessed the completion of 95 per cent of works.” 


On, the occasion, she committed to fulfilling the desire of people to have seen crystal-clean Bagmati. 


Assuring of promoting the religious significance of Bagmati, Magar vowed to manage all the religious cultures.  


According to the minister, the ministry is truly committed to waste management around the country. She, however, admitted that managing drainage in the major cities including Kathmandu has become a daunting challenge due to rapid urbanization.
