KATHMANDU, July 10: The shortage of drinking water is getting aggravated in Garuda market, the center of Garuda Municipality of Rautahat district. The problem of drinking water has been growing since last month.
The problem of drinking water in the Garuda market has escalated after a new leadership came into the local government. With very little water coming from their taps, people’s troubles have increased. Consumers have been complaining that the drinking water problem has not improved despite taking the issue to the mayor and the chairperson of the drinking water committee.

Santosh Kumar Jaiswal, a member of the Rautahat Chamber of Commerce, Garuda, says that he has been saddened by the shortage of water in the tanks. Hundreds of consumers in the market have had to suffer due to the shortage of water. Jaiswal complains that the Garuda Drinking Water and Sanitation Users Committee has not understood the problems of the consumers.
Chairman of the Garuda Drinking Water and Sanitation Consumers Committee Pankaj Kumar Jaiswal said that adequate pressure has not been able to accumulate in the pipes due to the electricity problems in the motor. He comments that as there persist problems related to electricity in the supply of drinking water, the consumers have had to sometimes face some problems due to power outages. He claims he is constantly trying to solve the problems.
