HETAUDA, Sept 19: A person was killed after a truck heading towards Kathmandu from Hetauda fell off a steep cliff at Simbhanjyang section along the Tribhuvan highway.
The ill-fated truck (Ba 4 Kha 6117) fell around 800 metres below to crash at the Jilgadi area at 3 am today killing its driver, District Police Office, Makawanpur said.
The identity of the driver has not been ascertained yet and his body has been taken to Hetauda, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dillip Jha said.
Assistant driver of the truck, 25 – year – old Anil Balami from Thaha municipality – 1 of Makawanpur has sustained critical injuries.
He was referred to Kathmandu after receiving treatment at a treatment centre in Pulung area, police said. There were no passengers on board the truck at the time of the accident.(RSS)
