GORKHA, Feb 10: A mentally challenged girl has been raped in Machakhola of Gorkha district. According to the parents of the victim, the 11-year-old girl was raped by a driver on Tuesday evening.
According to the parents, the driver raped the girl by luring her with chocolates and money. “In the evening, both the child and driver were nowhere to be seen. When we searched for them, both of them came out together,” the parents said. “Our child seemed uncomfortable. So, when we took her inside a room and asked her, we found out that she had been raped.”

On Wednesday morning, the parents informed the police at Machakhola police station about the incident. According to Assistant Sub Inspector Rudra Thapa of Machakhola Police Post, the driver Ritesh Chhetri, 27, of Budhanilkantha-13 Kapan, Kathmandu was arrested and sent to the District Police Office after receiving the complaint from the victim’s parents.
According to DSP Prakash Dahal of the District Police Office, Gorkha, a medical check-up was conducted of the victim on Wednesday and a case is to be filed on Thursday.
