KATHMANDU, July 23: Deputy Superintendent of Police Chandeshwar Yadav, who serves in the provincial police force of Dhanusha, fell victim to an attack in Mahottari. The event occurred on Thursday at 10 PM near Bidhyapati Nagar, close to Jaleshwar Municipality-2 Bus Park in Mahottari.
According to DSP Dilip Kumar Giri, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Mahottari, DSP Yadav suffered a fractured right leg during the assault. Immediate action was taken upon learning of his injury at 11 PM that night, and he was promptly admitted to a hospital. Presently, DSP Yadav is undergoing treatment at the police hospital in Kathmandu.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, leaving the authorities puzzled. DSP Yadav was discovered at the scene pleading for help, but the reasons for his presence there at night and the motives behind the attack are yet to be determined.
Given the mysterious nature of the incident, the police are actively investigating the matter. The Madhesh Province Police Office in Janakpur has formed a three-member committee, led by SP Mahendra Kumar Shrestha, to carry out the investigation. The team conducted an inspection at the site on Saturday, although, at this stage, no conclusive statements can be made as the investigation is still ongoing, police said.
