LAMJUNG, June 18: The Dumre-Besisahar road section has been blocked due to landslides triggered by incessant rainfall since last night. Thaneshwor Chapagain, information officer of the District Police Office, Lamjung, said that the road has been blocked since this morning due to the landslides in Dalal, Besisahar Municipality-1. Even though a police team has been deployed to clear the debris on the road, the ongoing rain has created problems, he added.
Traffic resumes on Besisahar-Chame road
Due to the road closure, vehicles and passengers have been stranded. Passengers traveling to Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan from Besisahar as well as the passengers going to the Himalayan district of Manang through Besisahar, are facing problems. Ambulances carrying patients have also been stranded. The Dumre-Besisahar road spans about 42 kilometers. This year, the road has been blocked for the first time.
