EC appoints Chief Election Officers for by-elections

KATHMANDU, March 30: The Election Commission has appointed the chief election  officers for the by-election to the members of the House of Representatives to be held on April 23.

KATHMANDU, March 30: The Election Commission has appointed the chief election  officers for the by-election to the members of the House of Representatives to be held on April 23.


According to a statement issued by the commission's spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Paudyal, District Judge Basudev Neupane has been appointed as the chief election officer in Chitwan-2, District Judge Mukesh Upadhyaya in Bara-2 and District Judge Komal Prasad Acharya in Tanahun-1 in consultation with the Judicial Council.

They have been appointed as the chief election officer with effect from April 1. 


With the appointment of the chief election officers, the office of the respective election officer will be opened from April 1, while nomination papers for the by-elections are scheduled to be registered on April 3. All election programs will be conducted from those offices.
