EC does not have authority to instruct parliament: Yashoda Gurung

KATHMANDU, September 14: lawmaker Yashoda Gurung Subedi has said that the Election Commission (EC) has no right to direct the sovereign parliament. She expressed her displeasure saying that the EC had sent a letter stating that the term of parliament would end after 12:00 AM on September 17.

KATHMANDU, September 14: Lawmaker Yashoda Gurung Subedi has said that the Election Commission (EC) has no right to direct the sovereign parliament. She expressed her displeasure saying that the EC had sent a letter stating that the term of parliament would end after 12:00 AM on September 17.

Similarly, lawmaker Rajan KC said that it should be clear whether lawmakers will be identified by the Election Commission or parliament. He mentioned that there is a rule that the new term of parliament does not start until the new MPs are elected and take oath.
