EC officials call on President Bhandari

KATHMANDU, May 5: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has urged the authorities concerned including the Election Commission to conduct the upcoming local elections in a free, fair and impartial manner.

KATHMANDU, May 5: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has urged the authorities concerned including the Election Commission to conduct the upcoming local elections in a free, fair and impartial manner. 


President Bhandari said this during a meeting held with the EC officials on Thursday.

President Bhandari urged the EC to pay maximum attention to security arrangements so as to allow voters to use their franchise right without any fear and influence. She also asked the EC to fulfill the legal responsibility to conduct the elections in the country. 


On the occasion, Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya said that all necessary preparations including enforcement of election code of conduct to conduct for the upcoming local election in a free and fair manner have been completed.
