KATHMANDU, July 13: With the reinstatement of the House of Representatives by the Supreme Court, the entire process of the HoR election scheduled for November 12 and 19 has been postponed.
The election scheduled for November following the dissolution of the House of Representatives will not be held immediately as the parliament has been reinstated. "After the Supreme Court's decision, there was no need to move ahead with the election preparations," he said. "The commission will hold a meeting and postpone the preparations.”

According to the EC, although it has yet to receive written information about the decision from the SC, it has postponed the process on the basis of yesterday’s information.
Shrestha said that the commission has made some preparations for the election but not much has been spent on it. “We had enough time- about four months for the election,” he said, “So, we have not spent much on election preparations this time.”
The Ministry of Finance had earlier approved the budget for the election and the commission had approved the financial procedure for it.
In addition to this, the EC had published the election schedule only a few days ago. President Bidya Devi Bhandari on May 22 announced the mid-term poll for the House of Representatives (HoR) for November 12 and 19 after dissolving parliament at the recommendation of the Council of Ministers. The Supreme Court on Monday ruled that the president's decision was unconstitutional and reinstated the HoR.
