EC to publish PR seats for HoR

KATHMANDU, Feb 8: The Election Commission has prepared to announce the number of seats secured by the political parties in the election of House of Representatives under Proportional Representation (PR) system on Thursday.

KATHMANDU, Feb 8: The Election Commission has prepared to announce the number of seats secured by the political parties in the election of House of Representatives under Proportional Representation (PR) system on Thursday.


According to the EC, It will send the letter to the political parties to submit the allocated women names today. EC spokesperson Nawaraj Dhakal said, “We send the letter to the political parties for submitting the names of candidates including women compulsorily.

After the National Assembly election results EC has prepared to publish the PR seats of HoR.


According to the source,  Among 110 seats allocated under PR category,  CPN-UML has got 41 seats, NC has secured 40 seats, CPN (Maoist Center) 17 seats. Federal Socialist Forum Nepal and Rastriya Janta Party has secured 6/6 seats.


Under the First-Past-The-Post (FPTP) election of HoR, CPN (UML) has got 80, CPN (Maoist Center) has secured 36, and Nepali Congress has got 23 seats, FSFN has obtained 11 and FSFN has garnered 10 seats.


Likewise, in National Assembly election CPN (UML) has got 27. NC 13, MC 12 and FSFN and RJPN has secured 2/2 seats.
