LONDON, May 26: Minister for Education, Science and Technology Devendra Poudel has called upon Nepali people living abroad to return home and participate in the nation-building process.
Addressing an interaction program organized by the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) UK in Aldershot on Wednesday, Minister Poudel said that the country has high expectations from the non-resident Nepali community.
Minister Poudel said that the Nepali people have completed the journey of political rights and stressed on the need to embark on the journey of prosperity now. "We need a democracy that will bring prosperity to the people and NRNA can complete this journey,” he said. “NRNA should invest in Nepal. The government is ready to provide dual citizenship.”

Poudel also mentioned that ex-Gorkha servicemen in the UK are a symbol of sincerity and the government is positive to resolve their demands through negotiations. Also addressing the program, Kedar Karki, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of Province 1, argued that the country would not be built unless Nepali people living abroad put pressure on Nepali politicians.
Karki urged to create pressure to apply the skills and knowledge learned abroad in Nepal. He mentioned that even touching the Nepali people living abroad brings pride and courage.
A delegation led by Education Minister Poudel had arrived in London on Saturday evening to attend the World Conference of 112 ministers from 107 countries.
