KATHMANDU, July 20: Minister for Education, Science and Technology Devendra Poudel has urged Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Balendra Shah to join hands on 'We Build, Our School Campaign' to ensure reforms in public education institutions.
During a meeting held at the Ministry of Education on Tuesday, Minister Poudel said the KMC now should pay attention to quality education as the teachers' quota is sufficient here.

Minister Poudel also said frequent monitoring was needed to assess whether the students' learning is upto the mark and teachers' work performance is satisfactory.
On the occasion, Minister Poudel said preparations are underway to develop Durbar High School and some other schools at KMC as model schools. He suggested KMC to be careful in appointing headmasters.
Likewise, Minister Poudel assured support to the KMC in case of difficulties.
On the occasion, Mayor Shah said monitoring of some 90 schools is ongoing in the KMC and underscored the need for a digital board.
Likewise, Mayor Shah sought Rs 500 million for the management of smart board locker systems in all schools adding a school bag for the student was too heavy to carry on.
