EGBOSA provides support to families, hospital impacted by coronavirus

KATHMANDU, Oct 16: Ex-Gandaki Boarding Students’ Association (EGBOSA), Pokhara, in collaboration with its North American, the United Kingdom, and Australia chapters, distributed immediate relief packages and personal protective equipment (PPEs) worth over one million rupees in different parts of Nepal.

KATHMANDU, Oct 16: Ex-Gandaki Boarding Students’ Association (EGBOSA), Pokhara, in collaboration with its North American, the United Kingdom, and Australia chapters, distributed immediate relief packages and personal protective equipment (PPEs) worth over one million rupees in different parts of Nepal.


In coordination with local government bodies, EGBOSA distributed goods to 340 households whose livelihoods have been adversely affected by the pandemic. A total of 140 households in Pokhara, 100 in Butwal, and 100 households in Baitadi received the support. Likewise, it provided 1,520 KN-95 masks, 300 surgical masks, 253 face shields, 15 paddle sanitizer dispensers with sanitizers to different health institutions in Kaski, Syangja, Baglung, Parbat, and Rupandehi districts.

Alumni Association of Gandaki Boarding School also partnered with ‘NAMUNA Integrated Development Council (NAMUNA)’ to upgrade four quarantine centres in Rupandehi district. They donated 80 pieces of mattresses, bedsheets,  summer blankets,  hand towels, bars of bathing soap and washing soap, packs of toothpaste and brushes, slippers, drinking water bottles, 5-litre buckets, plastic mugs, and  sanitary pads to 80 individuals in those quarantine centers. EGBOSA donated 50,000 rupees to ‘Bhojan Sewa’, a campaign to feed the hungry.


EGBOSA was formed in 1992, and it currently has other chapters in Kathmandu, Chitwan, North America, Australia, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, and Japan.
