KATHMANDU, May 25: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said that Eid al-Fitr would encourage to further strengthen social harmony, brotherhood and mutual cooperation among religious and cultural diversities of Nepalis living at different places in the world.
In a best wishes message today on the occasion of the great festival of Muslims, President Bhandari wished for happiness, prosperity, good health and long life to all Nepali Muslims living at home and abroad.
It was the responsibility of all Nepalis to follow the health-related rules unveiled by the government of Nepal to be safe from COVID-19 pandemic, read the message by the President.

The President expressed the belief that all should celebrate the festival by remaining at home by following the lockdown order with calm and patience.

Meanwhile, Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun has expressed the hope that the Muslim community would observe Eid al-Fitr at home over COVID-19 risks. In a message of best wishes to all Islam followers on this occasion today, the Vice President stressed the need for the community to celebrate this festival with health precaution as the country is under lockdown due to the infection.
"May this festival bring happiness, peace, prosperity and progress to all Islam followers and all Nepalis at home and abroad," he said in the message of greetings, adding that festivals and cultures of various communities have been additionally strengthening mutual tolerance and national unity among all Nepalis.
