Elderly man killed in bus-hit in Syangja

KATHMANDU, June 23: An elderly man died after being hit by a bus in Waling, Syangja district, on Sunday afternoon.

KATHMANDU, June 23: An elderly man died after being hit by a bus in Waling, Syangja district, on Sunday afternoon.  


The incident occurred when a bus (Ga 1 Kha 6237) en route to Pokhara from Butwal hit an old man in Mirdi, Waling Municipality-8 along the Siddhartha Highway. The deceased has been identified as Durga Bahadur Thapa, 81, a resident of Chinnebas, Biruwa Rural Municipality-6.

Thapa, who was a passenger of the bus, got hit by the same bus while crossing the road. According to Indra Bahadur Rana, information officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of the District Police Office, Syangja, Thapa sustained critical injuries and was rushed to the Waling Primary Health Center for treatment. Unfortunately, the doctor declared him dead. Police said they have taken control of the bus driver.
