Election Commission and NHRC hold discussion to make election fair and credible

KATHMANDU, Oct 18: The commissioners of the Election Commission (EC) and members of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Monday held discussions in regard to the upcoming elections to the federal and provincial assemblies to be held on November 20.

KATHMANDU, Oct 18: The commissioners of the Election Commission (EC) and members of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Monday held discussions in regard to the upcoming elections to the federal and provincial assemblies to be held on November 20. 


The meeting was held at the central office of the EC in Kantipath, Kathmandu. Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya and other commissioners were present during the meeting.

Likewise, a delegation of Meta, the mother company of Facebook, held a meeting with Chief Election Commissioner Thapaliya to discuss ways to control fake news, misinformation and hate speech that could spread through Facebook.
