KATHMANDU, April 10: The election for the post of National Assembly Vice Chairman is being held today. The agenda for today's meeting of the National Assembly includes the election. The meeting is scheduled to commence at 1:15 PM.


Bimala Ghimire from CPN-UML and Bishnu Devi Pudasaini from the opposition party Nepali Congress are the candidates for the post of National Assembly Vice Chairman.

During today's National Assembly session, member Durga Gurung will propose the election of Nepali Congress' Pudasaini, while Bhagwati Neupane will propose the election of UML's Ghimire.


Speaker Narayan Dahal will propose in today's meeting that the proposers of both candidates take turns presenting their proposals. According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, the proposal that garners majority support will be elected.


Furthermore, in today's meeting, the Secretary of the National Assembly, Dr Surendra Aryal, will provide information about the 'Food Hygiene and Quality Bill, 2077 BS', which was passed by the National Assembly and forwarded to the House of Representatives with a message.
