KATHMANDU, July 20: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that the local election results did not come as expected as those who did not get tickets in the elections did not cooperate. At a provincial-level training program held in Kathmandu on Wednesday, Oli said that the poor result was a consequence of the popular mentality of “If I get the ticket, I will win; if I don’t get the ticket, I won’t let others win, either.”
He said that the slogan ‘If I get the ticket, I will win; if I don’t get the ticket, I will help the one who got it to win’ was not being practiced. Oli complained that this slogan set by the party was not being adhered to by the workers. Oli said, “In reality, the opposite of the slogan happened.”

He said that the results did not come as expected due to the personal ego of the leaders. Oli said, “UML is and should be united to fulfill its greater responsibility, not to get bogged down in small matters.” While he was making the aforementioned statements, there was a round of applause in the hall. But the activists supporting Oli expressed their displeasure and remarked, “Only a few people clapped.”
