Election should be celebrated as festival: CEC Yadav

KATHMANDU, Sept 28: Chief Election Commissioner Dr. Ayodhee Prasad Yadav has said the Election Commission was already engaged in the managerial preparations for the House of Representatives and the State Assembly elections to be held on November 26 and December 7.

KATHMANDU, Sept 28: Chief Election Commissioner Dr. Ayodhee Prasad Yadav has said the Election Commission was already engaged in the managerial preparations for the House of Representatives and the State Assembly elections to be held on November 26 and December 7. 


Addressing a face-to-face program here on Thursday, CEC Yadav said they were carrying out the managerial works after the required laws and regulations for these twin elections were available.

The chief election commissioner said that the EC was confident of the full abidance of the election code of conduct as the main leaders of all the parties are going to be the candidates in the upcoming elections. 


He added that the Election Commission would discuss with the sides concerned in case of violation of the election code of conduct. 


Stating that the people were watching who were violating the election code, CEC Yadav informed that the EC would hold an extensive discussion on the violation by bringing all sides at one place. 


He thanked all the political parties, candidates and the people who extended cooperation for the successful conduction of the local level election. 


"Since this year is the year of election, all should celebrate the elections as festivals," CEC Yadav said. RSS
