Election should not be deferred under any pretext: Left alliance

KATHMANDU, Oct 26: Left alliance has urged to conduct the election on slated date. Organizing a press meet on Thursday in the capital, the alliance has urged all stakeholders to focus on the upcoming elections of federal parliament and provincial assemblies.

KATHMANDU, Oct 26: Left alliance has urged to conduct the election on slated date. Organizing a press meet on Thursday in the capital, the alliance has urged all stakeholders to focus on the upcoming elections of federal parliament and provincial assembly.


The alliance has organized the press meet at the time when the dilemma has been raised following the verdict from Supreme Court on Wednesday regarding the ballot papers. The alliance has warned against the postponement of the election for any reason.

Speaking at the program, CPN (UML) chairperson KP Sharma Oli has said that the election should not be postponed under any condition. Stating that the nomination process is underway for the first phase of the election, chair Oli added that the election cannot be deferred in political, moral and practical term which is not acceptable under any circumstances.


Speaking at the same program, CPN (Maoist Center) chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that the press meet has been organized to warn stakeholders not to postpone the election in any motive and to assure that the election will be held on the stipulated time.


Earlier in the day, speaking in another program, chair Dahal had said that the Legislature-Parliament will automatically be restored if the elections to the House of Representatives and State Assembly were not held in the stipulated time.
