KATHMANDU, June 9: CPN-UML leader Dr Bhim Bahadur Rawal has said that a state of garbage crisis has arisen in Kathmandu due to the lack of proper garbage management. Dr Rawal said so while participating in a discussion on various topics under the Appropriation Bill, 2079 BS in today's meeting of the House of Representatives.
Dr Rawal said that the government cannot shy away from its responsibility of waste management in the capital city by passing the buck to the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Office. He also requested the government not to jeopardize the health of the people and drew the attention of the government to manage Kathmandu's garbage. He questioned the Ministry of Finance and criticized the state for following the path of neo-liberalism and capitalism which has failed in the world.

Similarly, Rawal, a former minister, asked how the government manages Nepal's economy when trade deficit and current account deficit, external debt all are increasing, repayment imbalance is acute and each Nepali is burdened with a debt of more than Rs 60,000.
Likewise, questioning the Ministry of Defense, he said that the government's silence on Lipulekh, Limpiyadhura and Kalapani would not safeguard Nepal’s independence and sovereignty. He said that it was unbelievable that Tribhuvan University is called the best university in the country even when no efforts are made to open the university which remains padlocked for the past 139 days.
