Environment protection important agenda of the government: PM Deuba

KATHMANDU, June 4: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that protecting the environment is an important agenda of the current government. Inaugurating the half marathon organized by Kantipur Media Group in Kathmandu this morning, Deuba said that protecting the environment is now an important agenda of the world and the Government of Nepal is also serious about it.

KATHMANDU, June 4: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that protecting the environment is an important agenda of the current government. Inaugurating the half marathon organized by Kantipur Media Group in Kathmandu this morning, Deuba said that protecting the environment is now an important agenda of the world and the Government of Nepal is also serious about it. 


Stating that the impact of climate change is being felt all over the world, Prime Minister Deuba said that awareness programs are indispensable for mitigation of risks.  Nepal is also facing various problems due to climate change including rising temperatures seen in the world.

Prime Minister Deuba said that various studies have shown that climate change can have a serious impact on human life in the long run.  "I am confident that this half marathon, organized in the context of Environment Day, will help raise awareness about the importance of the environment. 


The Kantipur Media Group organized the 10th edition of 'Kantipur Half Marathon 2022' to raise awareness about the impact of climate change.
