KATHMANDU, Sept 29: The Parliamentary Hearings Special Committee (PHSC) meeting scheduled for Thursday to take decision on ambassadorial nominees for India and China has been postponed.

The committee had conducted hearings on Wednesday of Leela Mani Paudyal and Deep Kumar Upadhyay, who have been recommended as Nepal's ambassadors to China and India, respectively. It had called the next meeting to take the decision on their appointment for Thursday.
“The meeting has been cancelled pending further notice,” as per a notice issued by the committee Wednesday evening. The government had decided to recommend Poudyal and Upadhyay as Nepal's ambassadors to China and India, respectively, on September 1.
