KATHMANDU, Jan 16: Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gokul Baskota has reiterated that it does not necessarily mean that the public land in Baluwatar has got seized only because someone erects flag on its premises.

The government spokesperson's statement comes a day after the outlawed Netra Bikram Chand-led NCP claimed that it controlled and erected flag in the public land in Baluwatar in the capital.

Speaking at a weekly media briefing on Thursday to inform about the decisions by the Council of Ministers, Baskota said, "There is no meaning of claiming a piece of land and erecting any flag. The issues that are being surfaced are to be settled through legal means. And more importantly, the government is not protecting anyone who is involved in land grabbing."

Speaking further, he insisted that the recent activities of the Biplab-led group have provided enough ground to justify as the government claimed earlier. "They have been detonizing over mobile towers and destroying people's properties," said he adding, "How can the government tolerate such activities?"

He said that the government strongly condemns the terrorist activities of the BIplab group.
