eSewa enables cross-border payments for Indian tourists in Nepal

KATHMANDU, March 19: Indian nationals can pay money in Nepal using eSewa.  eSewa has issued a notice informing about this service.

KATHMANDU, March 19: Indian nationals can pay money in Nepal using eSewa.  eSewa has issued a notice informing about this service.


According to the company, Nepali businessmen who are connected to the PhonePay QR merchant network from eSewa will now be able to receive payments from Indian tourists through the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) directly through the PhonePay QR provided by eSewa.

According to the company, payments can be made by Indian tourists through Phonepay, BHIM app and Google Pay.


The company said that this service is valid for merchants who are connected to the PhonePay QR merchant network through eSewa. The company has mentioned that a service fee will be charged for using this service.


With the start of cross-border payment between Nepal and India, Indian tourists can easily make payments through QR code in Nepal.
