Ex-goalkeeper of national football team, Shahi, passes away

KATHMANDU, Jan 11: Former goalkeeper of the Nepali National Football Team and former general-secretary of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), Lok Bahadur Shahi passed away at the age of 65.

KATHMANDU, Jan 11: Former goalkeeper of the Nepali National Football Team and former general-secretary of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), Lok Bahadur Shahi passed away at the age of 65.


Suffering from different diseases since a long time, Shahi died at his house in Dailekh on Sunday night, said ANFA President Karma Tshering Sherpa.

The final rites of Shahi will be performed today, according to family sources.


He was the goalkeeper of the Nepali National Football Team from 1979 to 1989. Shahi retired from the national team in 1989.


He was elected as general-secretary of ANFA in 2052 BS and elected as founding chairperson of Nepal Ice Hockey Association established in 2070 BS.
