SIRAHA, April 9: Former President Ram Baran Yadav has expressed concern over the political parties' inability to forge a consensus to resolve the current political impasse.
He urged the parties to come together to work towards the implementation of the constitution. “Political parties need to unite and make the constitution a document of peace and unity,” he said at the inauguration ceremony of Gayatri Mahayaga organized by Dash family in Aurahi of Siraha on Sunday.

The planned constitution amendment should address the disgruntled groups and make the charter acceptable to everyone, said Yadav. “Every party should be serious about addressing the difficulties in the constitution implementation process, and steering the country towards the path of peace and prosperity.”
The former president also expressed concern over rampant excavations in Chure. “If this illegal activity does not stop, all the arable land will turn into a desert. Everyone should unite and work to preserve Chure actively and honestly,” he said.
On the occasion, Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Sita Devi Yadav stressed on the need for constitution amendment, adding it is not only necessary for the people living in the Terai, but also for those in the Himalayan and hilly regions.
“The upcoming election will pave the way for constitution implementation. That's why the election must include the disgruntled groups,” she said.
