Excavator used in illegal river mining impounded

TANAHUN, May 31: The authorities on Wednesday took under control an excavator used to illegally scoop the river bed for materials from the Marsyangdi river at Turture of Bhanu municipality – 3.

TANAHUN, May 31: The authorities on Wednesday took under control an excavator used to illegally scoop the river bed for materials from the Marsyangdi river at Turture of Bhanu municipality – 3. 



The police have impounded the excavator (Ga 1 Ka 2648) and a tractor (Lu 1 Ta 1708), and detained its drivers, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sunil Malla of District Police Office, Tanahun. 



The excavator was being used to extract stones and gravels to be transported on the tractor. The drivers and the impounded vehicles have been sent to the District Coordination Committee's office for legal action. 



In the past one week, police have taken action on illegal mining in the Marsyangdi, Seti and Madi rivers of the district. RSS
