Families of conflict victims meet PM, demand fair reparation

KATHMANDU, April 2: Families of security personnel who lost their lives during the decade-long Maoist conflict called on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal today.

KATHMANDU, April 2: Families of security personnel who lost their lives during the decade-long Maoist conflict called on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal today. 


During the meeting held at the Prime Minister's official residence Baluwatar, they thanked the government for its equal approach to recognize those losing lives to the conflict as martyrs. They drew the government's attention to ensure equitable compensation, relief and reparation to the victims representing the rebel and the state sides through the Truth and Reconciliation Bill.

In response, Prime Minister Dahal said that he had equal respect to those who sacrificed their lives for the cause of socio-political transformations of the nation. He said that the issues of victims would be addressed as per the spirit of the Comprehensive Peace Accord, according to the Prime Minister's Secretariat.
