Family of girl killed by leopard to get relief support

DAMAULI, Nov 17: The family of four-year-old Ranjita Lamsal, who died in an attack by a cheetah, has received financial support from local authorities.

DAMAULI, Nov 17: The family of four-year-old Ranjita Lamsal, who died in an attack by a cheetah, has received financial support from local authorities. 


A resident of Chisapani in ward no. 4 of Bhanu municipality, Ranjita was playing outside her home when she was attacked by the wild animal. Seriously injured, she was declared dead at arrival at the Damauli hospital.

The Tanahu Division Forest Office and Bhanu municipality jointly provided Rs. 50,000 as early relief support to Sarawasti Lamsal, mother of Ranjita. Ranjita’s father is reportedly abroad on a foreign employment. 


As per the relief guidelines concerning damage by wildlife, the family of the dead received a maximum of Rs. One million in compensation. And the necessary process has begun to provide that amount to the family, Forest Officer Kedar Baral said. RSS
