Far Western Province to release Rs 250 million for disaster management

KATHMANDU, Oct 20: An emergency meeting of the Far-Western Provincial Council of Ministers held on Tuesday decided to provide Rs. 250 million to the Disaster Management Fund.

KATHMANDU, Oct 20: An emergency meeting of the Far-Western Provincial Council of Ministers held on Tuesday decided to provide Rs. 250 million to the Disaster Management Fund.


According to Purna Joshi, government spokesperson and Minister for Internal Affairs and Law, the meeting decided to provide Rs 2.5 million each to all the nine districts of the province to carry out rescue and relief work after the loss of property caused by the incessant rains for the past three days.

Minister Joshi said, “The meeting has also decided to ask everyone to work  for relief, rehabilitation and rescue of those affected by the disaster triggered by the rain.”
