Among the national pride projects managed by the Army, ‘From Bunker to Barrack’ has completed 121 buildings before the stipulated deadline. According to the Defence Ministry, the NA has constructed 15 physical infrastructure projects, with a budget of over Rs 1.82 billion rupees. The annual work progress of the programme is 102.5 percent.

The progress of the construction of Darchula-Ghantibazaar trial track road is 80 percent.

However, the Fast track construction saw only 42.8 percent progress

Among the Defence Ministry’s projects listed below 50 percent work progress are the Fast Track, National Defence University and reconstruction of earthquake-devastated infrastructures.

Delays in the approval of the Detail Project Report (DPR) and selection of international consultants in the FY 2019/20 impacted the progress of the project. Difficulty in mobilizing technical teams with necessary equipment due to the lockdown also hampered the project. A budget of Rs 4.46 billion was earmarked for the project.

Preparation to establish the National Defence University saw 40.29 percent progress. The government had decided to construct the university stretching over the area of 740 ropanis of land in Sanga Bhanjyang, Kavre. A budget of Rs 200 million was appropriated for the project.

The reconstruction of earthquake-devastated structures saw 30 percent progress. A total of Rs 81.5 million was appropriated for the project.
