According to him, the agreement to distribute equal percent shares between the hall operators and the producer has been implemented since November 10. Director Nischal Basnet's film 'Dimag Kharab’ was screened On November 10.

Khadka informed Republica that the producers have been bearing the cost of promotional material such as the trailer displayed in the halls, and the hoarding boards and posters kept inside the hall premises. According to him, the cost of foreign film trailers to promotional materials is being borne by the hall owners.

Earlier, director Basnet and producer Raunak Bikram Kandel of 'Dimag Kharab’ film had warned to stop the screening of the film after the film hall operators had given more preference to the Hindi film 'Tiger 3'. Producer Kandel and director Basnet had put forward a condition that nepali films should get equal shows as foreign films in the same halls. They demanded a change in policy that entitles producers to receive only 35 percent of the income from screening films from the third week onward.

Until now, film producers used to get 50 percent of the income in the first and second weeks of screening of Nepali films in the theaters, while distributors received equal percent of shares. But from the third week, the filmmakers used to get only 35 percent of the income. As per the agreement, the producers will also get equal shares from the third week onwards.
