He mentioned that there were reports in the media that Finance Minister Sharma had sent some of his representatives to the Ministry of Finance at midnight on May 28 to change the tax rates on electric vehicles, health insurance, iron and steel products, and sanitary pads. He requested both the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister to give clarifications in this regard. He said that it was against the oath taken in the name of the nation to admit people in the finance ministry during the budget formulation.

MP Bhattarai said that it was treasonous for the finance ministry to do such a thing, adding that some industries have collapsed due to the manipulation of tax rates.
