FinMin Sharma for improving partnership with ADB to increase exports

KATHMANDU, Feb 18: Finance Minister Janardan Sharma has said that Nepal should improve its partnership with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) further in order to take domestic products to the international market. Minister Sharma made the statement during a virtual meeting with ADB Executive Director Dr Wan Farisan on Friday.

KATHMANDU, Feb 18: Finance Minister Janardan Sharma has said that Nepal should improve its partnership with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) further in order to take domestic products to the international market. Minister Sharma made the statement during a virtual meeting with ADB Executive Director Dr Wan Farisan on Friday. 


Stating that a low number of Nepali products are being exported, Minister Sharma stressed the need for improving the country’s ties with the ADB to improve the sector. He also pointed out the need for focusing on minimizing the negative aspects of the economy.

On the occasion, Minister Sharma asserted the need for improving the country's economy and the trade index. In order to achieve that goal, Minister Sharma stressed the need for creating an investment-friendly environment and the need for encouraging the private sector. 


Furthermore, Minister Sharma thanked the ADB for its support to the country’s economy and the fight against COVID-19.
